Published on Oct 28, 2021 8:30 pm IST

Varudu Kavalenu is up for a release tomorrow and on this occasion, we caught up with hero Naga Shourya for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

How did this film materialize?

I met director Lakshmi at the success party of Chalo. She directly asked me whether I would listen to her story. After that meeting, she narrated the story which I loved and here I am with the release.

Working with women directors?

It is very comfortable I can say. As they have a lot of patience, things happen on a peaceful note. Moreover, I feel that women should direct films more as they have a stronghold on emotions. Coming to Lakshmi, she is vastly experienced and has narrated the film beautifully.

Trivikram’s involvement with the film?

He has helped us in many ways. Not many know that he has also written a special scene in the film. It was so good to mouth his dialogues and our film will have a lot of his flavor.

This film is about marriage. What’s your take on it and when will you get married?

I am ready for marriage but do not know when I will tie the knot. Things just happen and destiny plays a huge role in all this. How much ever you plan to deal with marriage, things happen in an opposite way. As far as I am concerned, I want my partner to be happy.

What is Varudu Kavalenu all about?

The film is a very mature love story and deals with the story of a couple until they get married. It is all about understanding each other and waiting for things to happen in life.

Working with Ritu Varma?

I loved working with Ritu and very soon, I will work on another film with her. Ritu has a key role and worked so hard on it and will go a long way in her career.

How do you rate your career so far?

Every hero has more flops than hits. I feel that one needs five big hits to become a star hero. I have one in the form of Chalo and Varudu Kavalenu will be another blockbuster hit. I am taking one film at a time.

Tell us about your future projects?

I have three films in the pipeline and have pinned a lot of hopes on Lakshya as well. I will showcase myself in a new manner with each film of mine.
