King Nagarjuna Akkineni is coming up with a wholesome entertainer Naa Saami Ranga. Directed by the renowned choreographer Vijay Binni, the film has generated excitement through its captivating promotional material. The movie also stars Allari Naresh and Raj Tharun in key roles. Oscar-winning music director MM Keeravani composed the tunes. Ahead of the release, Nagarjuna interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.

Is Naa Saami Ranga the quickest film you have completed in your career?

Indeed. Naa Saami Ranga can be considered a swiftly filmed project if we consider the time from the start of shooting to the release date. This is not measured in working days alone. Efficient pre-production is crucial for such swift work. Fortunately, we executed thorough pre-production for this film. Having Keeravani as our music director was a stroke of luck. Three songs were ready before shooting commenced, and even the background music for the fight sequence was prepared in advance.

What made you do this film?

I was impressed by all its elements: friendship, love, sacrifice, and faith. Naa Saami Ranga has a beautiful narrative filled with human emotions.

Naa Saami Ranga is based on the Malayalam film Porinju Mariam Jose. What precautions did you take for the Telugu version?

We have made sure that the essence of the Malayalam film was retained. Director Binni deserves a solid appreciation for his meticulous adaptation. Writer Bezwada Prasanna seamlessly blended the story with Telugu nativity.

Could you tell us about Aashika Ranganath’s role in the film?

There’s a unique love story between me and Ashika, depicting our romantic journey since the age of 12. It’s a distinct love story that unfolds over two decades. Ashika Ranganth has delivered a remarkable performance.

Could you tell us about the roles of Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun in the film?

Allari Naresh’s role was conceptualized even before Vijay Binni joined the project. His role focuses on brotherhood. Raj Tharun also essays an important character in the film.

How was it working with Vijay Binni?

Vijay Binni has an excellent visual sense. This is evident in his beautifully choreographed songs. Vijay has a knack for storytelling through song sequences, and I admire it. The clarity he has as a director is commendable.

Was it challenging to meet production deadlines?

The director, camera department, and all post-production teams worked round the clock. Good coordination among all departments ensured a smooth process.
