Karthikeya’s Raja Vikramarka is up for a release soon. On this occasion, we caught up with the film’s heroine Tanya Ravi Chandran for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
Did you always want to be in the movies?
Yes, ever since I was a kid, I made up my mind that films will be my career. As I belong to a film family, offers kept on coming to me. But as I was young, I did not accept it.
About bagging Raja Vikramarka?
I was doing my PG in Chennai, I got a few Tamil offers and I did them. That is how I also got this film. But my parents asked me to complete my studies and do it. I finished my studies and worked on this film.
Tell us about your role in the film?
I play a girl named Kanthi, who is a classical dancer. Even though she is the daughter of a home minister, she has no airs about her background and is a simple fun loving girl.
Working with the likes of Karthikeya?
Karthikeya is a very hardworking guy and has come up on his own. I have seen his dedication to the sets and the way he has acted in this film is also quite impressive.
Your grandfather Ravi Chandran’s reaction to joining films?
Sadly, he did not know that I decided to do films. Even before I joined the showbiz he passed away. I hope he is blessing me from up there.
What kind of roles are you looking forward to?
I am open to all kinds of roles and have no barriers. For me, the character I play needs to be strong. I am open to glamor and both serious roles in my career.
