Thaman is in the form of his life with back to back hits. His new film Venky Mama is ready for a release and on this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
Looks like you are in the peak of your career?
Nothing like that. Touchwood, things are going great for me and I give the complete credit to all the good films that are coming my way. If such good stories come my way, music will automatically flow and the same is happening with my songs.
Tell us about Venky Mama?
Many think that Venky Mama is a very jovial film. But apart from that, the film has a very emotional story. I have watched the rough cut of the film and I had tears in my eyes. I feel that the emotional content in the film will touch everyone. The music has also come out quite well.
What goes behind the composition of your songs?
Sometimes, the director is very clear as to what kind of music he wants for his film and gives me the script. He is the ultimate boss and I completely depend on his suggestions for the songs of the film. As they are very aware of the scenes, I discuss with them and give my output.
Did you know that some of your recent hits will be such big when you composed?
Yes, in a way!. As I have a good amount of experience, I get a feeling that this song will create a sensation in the coming days. My opinions have never gone wrong in the recent past. I thank the audience for making my recent songs such big hits all over.
What’s special about Venky Mama?
For sure, the chemistry between Venky Chay is going to be the highlight of the film. Be it their comedy or emotions, their track will be quite special in the film. They will entertain you thoroughly in the film with their superb act.
