After registering historic collections in pre-sales, Tollywood star NTR’s most eagerly awaited pan-India action drama, Devara, was released in cinemas yesterday. The film received a unanimous positive response from fans and critics alike, and this reflected in the film’s day one box office numbers worldwide.
Devara makers took to social media this morning and announced that the Koratala Siva directorial collected a whopping Rs 172 crore gross at the global box office. NTR has created history by erasing several non-RRR opening day records in India and overseas destinations. The film ended up grossing close to $3.40 million in North America on its opening day.
Devara collected a sensational Rs 54.21 crore share (excl GST) in the Andhra, Nizam, and Ceded regions on day one. This is a historic opening and is next only to Rajamouli’s RRR, also starring NTR. On the other hand, Devara’s Hindi version collected over Rs 7.50 crore across the country.
Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor played lead roles in Devara, produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Mikkilineni Sudhakar, and Kosaraju Hari Krishna. Anirudh Ravichander’s blazing soundtrack is one of the major highlights of this high-budget entertainer. Stay tuned for more updates on the film’s box office collection.
