Kollywood star Karthi’s 29th film was formally announced a couple of days ago. The film will be bankrolled by noted Kollywood production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, which also bankrolled Karthi’s super hit action dramas, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (Khakee), and Kaithi (Khaidi). Tentatively titled Karthi29, the film will be directed by the critically acclaimed filmmaker Tamizh.
At the time of the official announcement, Karthi29 makers unveiled a special poster that piqued everyone’s curiosity. The poster featured a giant ship sailing in the sea waters, and the color tint instantly gave vintage vibes. And here’s an exciting update on the film’s backdrop.
In an interview given much before Karthi29’s announcement, director Tamizh revealed that his next film is set against the backdrop of smuggling in the Rameshwaram district of Tamil Nadu. Tamizh went on to reveal that the film’s story takes place in the 1960s.
Even though the director didn’t confirm Karthi would star in the movie back then, he did reveal that Dream Warriors Pictures would bankroll his next project. And the Karthi29 announcement poster matches with Tamizh’s description. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what Karthi and the film’s team have in store for them.
