Lengthy runtime locked for NTR’s Devara

NTR and Koratala Siva’s second film, Devara, is set to grace the cinemas on 27th September. The movie, set against the forgotten coastal islands of India, is made on a humongous budget. The pre-sales are excellent in international markets. The theatrical trailer was unveiled yesterday in Mumbai.

We have already reported that the movie recieved a U/A certificate from the censor board. Few expected A certificate for Devara looking at the extreme violence in the promotional content, but that didn’t happen. The latest news is that the approved runtime of Devara is 178 minutes (2 hours and 58 minutes).

The runtime is very lengthy, and Koratala Siva needs to come up with a gripping screenplay to engage the audience. Recent biggies faced criticism for dragged out scenes resulting in a lengthy duration and we need to see what Koratala Siva has in store for us.
