The much-talked-about political drama, Raajadhaani Files, has hit the big screens today. Check out the review to find out how it is.

Story:

Set in Bhullur village, the movie follows Gautham (Pushparaj Akhilan), who initially considers leaving the village, but soon discovers the struggles of farmers who sacrificed their land for the construction of the new capital of Aruna Pradesh, Airavathi. However, when the newly elected Chief Minister (Vishal Patni) decides to ignore Airavathi, it sparks a rebellion among the farmers. You have to watch the movie to unravel the fate of Gautham and his fellow villagers, and whether their aspirations are realized.

Plus Points:

Veteran actors Vinod Kumar and Vani Vishwanath delivered decent performances, particularly shining in a few scenes.

Pushparaj Akhilan portrayed his role effectively, especially in the second half, while the supporting cast contributed adequately.

Minus Points:

Despite its intent to blend fiction with reality, Raajadhani Files falls short in delivering the expected emotional weight and powerful performances.

The director missed the opportunity to craft a compelling narrative that deeply resonates with the audience, particularly in the first half. Additionally, the lack of coherence between a few scenes in both halves is glaring.

Better casting choices could have heightened the emotional depth, as the current actors lacked the necessary gravitas. The accompanying music fails to complement the scenes effectively.

The minimal presence and lack of assertive dialogue from the actor portraying the CM is unimpressive. Introducing more powerful dialogues could have compensated for this. Moreover, including a special song in the serious second half was an ill-advised decision.

Technical Aspects:

Director Bhanu had the potential to elevate Raajadhani Files into a compelling political drama but failed to seize the opportunity.

Despite the presence of veteran technicians like Manisharma and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, the constraints of the story limited their contributions.

Cinematography is okay. While the production values are acceptable, significant improvements are needed in the editing department to trim unnecessary scenes and reduce the runtime.

Verdict:

On the whole, Raajadhani Files falls short of expectations as a political drama, lacking the depth and emotional resonance needed to engage audiences thoroughly. Although the lead performances are acceptable, the film is marred by its hindering screenplay, a lack of a compelling storyline, unnecessary scenes, and excessive runtime. Considering alternative entertainment options this week is advisable.
