Music Review : Rangasthalam – Foot Tapping Album

The complete audio of Ram Charanโ€™s Rangasthalam is finally out in the open. Composed by the talented DSP, letโ€™s now see how this album turns out to be.

Song 1: Yenta Sakkagunnave Yenta Sakkagunnave

Analysis: The album starts off with a bang as Yenta Sakkagunnave is quite romantic and hits your ears instantly. The highlight of the song is Chandraboseโ€™s lyrics which are poetic and compare Samanthaโ€™s beauty with nature and its realistic surroundings. What works even more for the song is the amazing voice of DSP who makes this song a chart buster right away.

Ranga Ranga Rangsthalam

Song 2: Ranga Ranga Rangsthalam

Analysis: The second song and probably one of the best songs on the album is Ranga Ranga Rangsthalana. Sung beautifully by Rahul Sipligunj, this song has a complete folk beat to it and sets the tone of the album right. DSP has made sure that he adds local village beats which will allow Charan to showcase his mass moves. This song is already a rage with the listeners and will be an even bigger hit when the visuals come out.

Song 3: Rangamma ManggamaRangamma Manggama

Analysis:ย  Moving on, the third song, Rangamma Mangamma is the cutest song on the album. Sung by M M Manasi, this song elevates the album to another level. A perfect love ballad which showcases the heroineโ€™s love for the hero. The way DSP has generated a peppy tune makes all the difference to the song. The effortless singing of Manasi also makes things work for this song. Once again, Chandrabose is in full form as his lyrics are quite rustic and generate a soothing effect on the album.

Aa GattununtaavaSong 4: Aa Gattununtaava

Analysis:The fourth song in a full on mass number called Aa Gattununtaava. The song is a mass village number which reminds you of the music from the late 80โ€™s. The mood of the song is quite upbeat and the singer Naagulu goes all out with his rustic voice. DSP makes sure that every song in the album has a perfect mass beat which will allow the fans to have a ball at the theaters. Same happens with this song as it is aimed straight at the masses.

Song 5: Jigelu RaniJigelu Rani

Analysis:ย No album of DSP and Ratnavelu is complete with a mass number. In Rangasthalam too, DSP churns out a mass number which is full on masala number right from the word go. The song is full of punches and DSP has made sure that the audience will have no inhibitions while dancing to it. An out and out dance number, this song will be a rage once Pooja Hegdeโ€™s glamor and Charanโ€™s dance moves are released all over.

Verdict:-

After taking a lot of flak for his routine songs, Devi Sri Prasad silences his critics in his own style. Sukumar allows Devi to go all out with the album which has some foot tapping numbers. This album is directed at the fans and mass audience who will have a ball of a time in the theaters. Yenta Sakkagunnave, Ranga Ranga Rangsthalana, and Rangamma Manggama are our picks and will be blockbuster songs once the film releases. The makers have won half the battle with this complete village based folk album but we need to see how the classes react to it.
