Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the brutal murder of his fan, Renuka Swamy. The latest update in this case is that the police are set to submit the final chargesheet this week, detailing charges against Darshan and six other accused individuals. Recently, a video surfaced on social media showing Darshan receiving VIP treatment while in judicial custody. Following the video’s viral spread, he was immediately transferred to Bellary jail on August 30, 2024.
For the unversed, ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan and his rumoured girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda, were detained in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. Reports suggest that Renuka was killed due to comments he made about Pavithra. It is alleged that Darshan, with the help of six accomplices, was involved in the crime. The court’s verdict is awaited.
