Director C Prem Kumar gained nationwide popularity with his debut movie, 96, a super hit featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. He also directed its Telugu remake, Jaanu. Now, his next movie, Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi in the lead role, is set for a grand release in cinemas on September 27, 2024.
In a recent conversation with a media channel, Prem Kumar discussed the sequel to 96. He revealed that he has almost completed scripting the sequel. Although he hasn’t yet narrated it to Vijay Sethupathi, he has shared it with the actor’s wife.
Prem mentioned that he will present the script to Sethupathi once it’s finalised, and the project will commence after Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha complete their current commitments.
Prem Kumar’s ideas for the 96 sequel have excited fans, though some believe it might be best to leave the cult classic untouched. It remains to be seen how things will unfold.
