Vishnu Manchu’s Ginna is ready for a release this Friday. Payal Rajput plays one of the leads and we caught up with her for a brief chit-chat. Here is the transcript.
How did you bag the project Ginna?
One fine day, Mohan Babu sir called me and appreciated my performance in Anaganga O Athithi. It was a surprise and gave me a lot of confidence as an actor. Two months post that call, I got a chance to work in Ginna and here I am with the release of the film.
About your role in the film?
I play a typical village girl who sells pickles. It was a new experience to do this role as I had to get the diction and body language right. But I managed with the help of my director and Kona Venkat Garu.
Working with the likes of Vishnu Manchu?
He is one of the most humble people I have come across. He has no air and helped me a lot during the making of this film. He has worked hard on his performance and will score a big hit with this film.
Sharing screen space with Sunny Leone?
It was lovely to share screen space with her. We had a lot of fun on the sets and the audience will love our glamor and comedy in the film. Sunny has a very key role in this film and she has done a good job.
Are you happy with your career so far?
In a way no. Post the success of RX100, I did not get proper guidance and signed films left and right. Now, I am being very careful and am accepting projects which give me scope to perform. From now on, you will see me in good roles.
Highlights of Ginna?
Ginna is a complete masala film with comedy, glamor, and thrills. The director Surya has made sure that the audience will not get disappointed one bit and has packed the film with fun and drama.
Future projects?
I have a film in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. Three other projects are in discussion as of now. Very soon, I will announce them officially.
