Rashmika is busy promoting her new film Dear Comrade which is up for a release soon. On this occasion, we caught up with her for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

Tell us about Dear Comrade?

The film is a realistic journey of both our characters played by me and Vijay. The film has some moving emotions which will connect with many in the youth. Also, the message that is showcased in the film will win everyone’s hearts.

Your role in the film?

I play the role of Lilly who is a state-level cricket player. What happens when a career-oriented girl like me falls in love with a guy like Bobby?. How my life takes a new turn and what happens, in the end, is the whole story of the film.

How did get into your role of a cricketer?

I had no idea about cricket to date and learned everything about it during the making of the film. Now, I can play the game well but not a professional level. My cricketing scenes are a bit crucial for the film and that is the reason, I had to learn the game.

How was it dubbing for all the four languages?

I did not dub for all the languages and did it only for Kannada and Telugu. Once I do more films in Tamil and Malayalam, I will surely dub for myself in the future.

How do you feel about doing a film with Mahesh Babu?

I feel extremely lucky to do a film with Mahesh so early in my career. I feel that my hard work and dedication in my craft has brought me this big offer in my lap and I am super excited to start shooting with Mahesh sir.

Your equation with Vijay Devarakonda?

I share a very close bond with him and as I have worked with him previously, I exactly know what kind of a person he is. Our chemistry will be a big highlight of the film.

Working with a debut director?

Bharat has a lot of clarity on the script. He emailed me the script but I did not have time to read it. Then, once he narrated me the script, I was bowled over and right away said yes to it. Having Vijay in the same film was like icing on the cake.
