Amid unprecedented hype and expectations, Kollywood star Vijay’s highly anticipated action thriller, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), is gearing up to hit theaters on September 5. The film was censored recently, and its runtime was locked at 2 hours, 59 minutes.

Now, in a rare feat, GOAT is said to have been re-censored by the CBFC. Furthermore, about 5 minutes of new footage has been added to the movie, taking the final run-time to 3 hours, 3 minutes, and 14 seconds. With this, GOAT becomes the second longest film in Vijay’s career, after his 2012 buddy comedy drama, Nanban, which had a duration of 3 hours, 8 minutes.

Action movies usually have a short duration of less than 2 hours and 30 minutes. It looks like Vijay, GOAT’s director Venkat Prabhu, and the entire team are highly confident in their product and hence decided to add about 5 minutes during the second censor scrutiny.

Vijay will be seen in the dual roles of a father and son in GOAT. The film also features an ensemble cast, including Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prasanth, Prabhu Deva, Laila, Jayaram, Sneha, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, and other prominent actors in pivotal roles. AGS Entertainment banner has bankrolled this prestigious project, while Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer.
