Anveshi starts Ananya Nagalla, Vijay Dharan Datla, and Simran Gupta in the key roles. The movie directed by VJ Khanna has hit the screens today. Let’s see how the film is.

Story:

Upon her father’s request, Dr. Anu (Ananya Nagalla) establishes a hospital in her native place and offers health services to the locals. In mysterious circumstances, the hospital catches fire, leading to the deaths of Anu and her father. After a few days, a series of murders take place near the area where Anu’s hospital used to be. Vikram (Vijay Dharan Datla) begins his hunt to know the answers to the deaths. Who is the killer? What did Vikram do to find out the truth? This forms the crux of the story.

Plus Points:

Vijay Dharan Datla, Simran Gupta, and Ananya Nagalla gave impressive performances. But the one who stole the show was Ajay Ghosh. Vijay Dharan exhibited a lot of confidence in his performance. The elements like forest scenes, the serial murders that take place near Anu’s hospital, and the hero’s quest to unravel the mystery are decent.

Heroine Simran Gupta not only has good looks but also attracts by her performance. Despite less screen time, Ananya Nagalla leaves a mark. A few scenes in the second half centered around the crime are passable. Racha Ravi, Dil Ramesh, and a few other artists did what was expected of them.

Minus Points:

The first and foremost rule for thriller films is to have a gripping and thrilling narrative till the end card. This is where Anveshi falters. The less we talk about thrilling moments, the better it will be. Though the director tried to lift the film with a few good scenes, it didn’t work out. The screenplay in the first half is slow, with boring scenes. The director took his own sweet time to introduce the characters and the conflict point.

The way the villain’s character is ended is not at all impressive. A few jokes worked, but many didn’t land well. Though there was more scope for comedy, the director didn’t use this effectively. The story is simple, and the narration is routine. The second half is comparatively better, but again, here, there are a few boring scenes.

Technical Aspects:

Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score is intriguing. Cinematographer KK Rao’s visuals are stunning, and they add value to the film. The editing is okay. Producer Ganapathy Reddy produced the film without compromising on the budget. Director VJ Khanna executed the climax and action episodes in a neat manner, but he failed with the remaining portions completely.

Verdict:

On the whole, Anveshi is an unimpressive thriller. Though the main leads Vijay Dharan Datla, Simran Gupta, and Ananya Nagalla did well, the film has a weak screenplay, and the pacing is extremely slow. Hence Anveshi ends up being a disappointing watch.
