We had already published the first part of our exclusive interview with Manchu Vishnu. In this second and final part, Vishnu speaks exclusively about his latest flick Anukshanam and other projects. Here is the transcript.
Why did you choose an offbeat and different kind of a film like Anukshanam ?
I always wanted to be a part of such films. This is the right time and age, when you should try these kind of roles. Anukshanam is the answer to all those who have the opinion that Tollywood only produces commercial big budget projects.
What was your dad’s reaction when you told him about this flick ?
Initially he warned me about doing such a film, but when I guaranteed that my role and the film will carve a niche in Telugu films, he agreed to it.
How and when did this bidding system come into existence ?
One fine day, Ramu told me that he had an interesting idea about selling the film. I was quite surprised by the way he planned this scheme, and from now on all my films in my banner would be sold to general public in auction mode only.
You have been working in back to back films RGV. How was the working experience ?
It is always a dream come true for any actor to work with RGV. He is one of the pioneer directors in India, and the way he extracts performances from his artists is what I liked the most.
How was it working with a senior actress like Revtahi ?
Oh ! it was a wonderful feeling working with her. She is highly professional, and did what was expected of her perfectly.
What are the highlights of Anukshanam ?
The major star cast, narration and the unique concept are the major highlights of the film.
How was it working with your dad’s guru Dasari Narayana Rao ?
It is such an honor to work with him. Even till date, he has not changed and is updated about every craft of the film.
What happened to your prestigious project Ravana ?
Raghavendra Rao garu is currently giving finishing touches to the script. The film will go on floors in 2015, and dad will play the title role.
Finally, sum up Anukshanam for us ?
Flicks like these are very rare for Telugu films. I want every one to watch it and encourage different concepts like these.
With that we ended our interview and wished Vishnu the best of luck for his film.
