Ori Devuda starring Vishwak Sen in the lead role, is set for a massive release on October 21st. The film has Mithila Palkar and Asha Bhatt as the female leads and is directed by Ashwath Marimathu. The film is produced by PVP Cinema and Sri Venkateshwara Creations and carries a good buzz. Ahead of the release, we met with the female leads for a brief interaction. Here is the transcript.

Asha Bhatt

How did you get into Ori Devuda?

After Roberrt in Kannada, there was this second wave going on. I was looking for more projects, and at that time, PVP sir and Ashwath called me for the Meera character. I have already watched the original and had to go through a screen test. They were satisfied, and that’s how I came on board.

Working experience with Vishwak Sen and Mithila?

As an actor, you just shouldn’t think about your scenes individually, but you need to give the required push to your co-actors. The best thing about Vishwak is that he knows this thin line and would support his co-star in every way. Mithila and Vishwak are not just good artists but exceptional human beings. I enjoyed being on the sets of Ori Devuda.

Any difference in your characterization from the original?

I watched Oh My Kadavule just like any other audience and little did I know that I would be part of the Telugu version. When Ashwath approached me, he said everything would be different from the Tamil version. Ashwath likes to play with the strengths of artists. That’s why Gundellona’s song was added, which is not in the original.

Do you think people lose friendship after marriage?

I don’t think so. I definitely think people shouldn’t lose their friendship after getting married. This is a subjective thing. Hardcore trust and loyalty shouldn’t be negotiable in relationships. The film will also talk about this aspect.

Mithila Palkar

How did you get a chance in Ori Devuda?

It was all due to the perseverance of director Ashwath, who had been in touch for over six months with me. I really liked the original version and the character he wanted me to play. It was a no-brainer for me, and that’s how I got into the film.

How did you feel about having Charan as the chief guest for your event?

I know how good he is as a person, and it is really amazing for both Asha and me to have someone like Charan come and grace our event. This is very special, and the fact that he watched by web series is even more special. I did not expect this, frankly. I am so touched that he watched my work and wants to watch more of it.

Any difference in your characterization from the original?

All three of us watched the original version once, so we are not trying to imitate the actors. Instead, Ashwath was trying to make a new film with many changes. Ashwath knows what his actors are capable of, and he will get that out of the artists.

Difference between other industries and TFI?

Everyone welcomed me so warmly, and not once I felt that I was new to this place. I love that from the initial day, I had a wonderful experience being here in the Telugu industry. The team made me comfortable, and we had multilingual people on the set. I always wanted to keep in touch with the Ori Devuda team.
