Pindam, the upcoming Telugu horror thriller is slated to release in theatres on December 15. Directed by Saikiran Daida, the film features Srikanth Sriram, Kushee Ravi, Srinivas Avasarala, Easwari Rao, and Ravi Varma. The movie is produced by Yeshwanth Daggumati and co-produced by Prabu Raja. Ahead of the release, actor-director Srinivas Avasarala interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.

What was your reaction after Sai Kiran narrated you the script?

I also happened to watch the director’s previous work, Smoke. It had an unexpected twist in the end, which I didn’t see coming. Hence, I felt writer-director Sai Kiran had the talent to hold the viewers’ attention.

Tell us about your character in the film.

I play Loknath, who investigates and researches supernatural beings. He happens to meet Eeshwari Rao, an expert on the subject. The story happens in three different timelines.

As you are a writer, did you give any inputs in screenwriting?

I always want to learn from others. Everyone has their own way of narrating a story. I learned a lot on the sets of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Eagle. It was a good learning experience watching how the dialogues in big-budget film are written and executed.

Do you have any plans to direct a film like Pindam in the future?

I have one script coming under the horror-comedy genre. It won’t be as scary as Pindam. It will have an emotional graph. Ghosts have unfulfilled desires when they depart their bodies. Hence, it becomes very difficult for spirits to free themselves from bondage in this dimension.

Why do you recommend audience to watch Pindam?

Previously, I used to urge audiences to come and watch our film. Later, I wondered why I needed to request them. If they like the trailer and other promotional content, they will come to the theatres. If you watch the director’s short film Smoke, you will definitely watch Pindam.
