Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty starrer family drama Manamey released today in cinemas amidst a decent buzz. Delve into the review to know how the film is.

Story:

In a shocking turn of events, Vikram, the carefree playboy, and Subhadra, on the verge of marriage, find themselves bound together by Kushi’s intervention. Were they able to meet their responsibilities towards Kushi? What happened to Kushi’s parents? And is there a deeper connection between the caregivers and the child’s family? The answers await you in the unfolding tale of the movie.

Plus Points:

Sharwanand exudes a trendy vibe, and his joyful demeanor and impeccable comedic timing leave a lasting impression. His playboy antics and flirtatious banter generate genuine laughter. Krithi Shetty’s chemistry with Sharwanand adds charm to their scenes together.

Vikram Adittya’s debut performance is endearing and leaves a fine impact. The supporting cast delivers satisfactory performances, and the score and background music effectively complement the movie’s atmosphere.

Minus Points:

While the story begins on an intriguing note, it loses momentum as it nears the interval, lacking the emotional depth needed to captivate the audience in the second half.

Despite the central focus on Vikram Adittya’s character as Kushi, his presence diminishes significantly in the second half. The latter part of the film lacks emotional resonance, with various subplots and characters diverting attention from the main narrative.

Writer-director Sriram Adittya fails to sustain the engagement seen in the first half, impacting the overall viewing experience. The predictable storyline and lackluster climax contribute to the film’s shortcomings.

Certain characters, such as Shiva Kandukuri, Seerat Kapoor, and Mukesh Rishi, could have been better developed to enhance plot engagement. Additionally, the lack of strong emotional scenes between the leads is a problem. While the score enhances certain scenes, the songs fail to make a lasting impression.

Technical Aspects:

Sriram Adittya, both the writer and director, missed an opportunity to improve the second half to match the enjoyment of the first. The screenplay lacks depth, leaving viewers questioning the essence of the story.

Hesham Abdul Wahab’s musical contributions are commendable, with background tracks adding depth, although the original songs fail to leave a lasting impact. The cinematography by Gnana Sekhar and Vishnu Sharma impresses with its visually appealing aesthetics.

Prawin Pudi’s editing could benefit from refinement, particularly in the second hour. While the production values are acceptable, the CGI work falls short of expectations due to inconsistency and a lack of polish. The costume designers need to be appreciated for their creative skills.

Verdict:

On the whole, Manamey presents a decent family drama, with Sharwanand delivering a commendable performance and Krithi Shetty impressing in her role. While the music adds flair to some scenes, the film’s lackluster second half and shallow emotional depth disrupt the overall impact. While Manamey may not resonate with everyone, it has the potential to entertain family audiences.
