Published on Jan 8, 2020 2:49 pm IST

Star director, Anil Ravipudi is ready with his new film Sarileru Neekevvaru with Mahesh Babu. On the occasion of the film’s release, we caught up with Anil for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

How is Sarileru Neekevvaru going to be?

Our film has emotions, comedy, and patriotism in equal doses. It is like a full meal Sankranthi Thali which everyone will like and savor it. It is a perfect film for this season and Mahesh will be seen as never before in this film.

How did this project materialize?

I had this storyline when I was doing F2 itself. I pitched it to superstar Mahesh Babu and he liked it very much. Once he heard the complete script, he gave his nod right away and Anil Sunkara came in automatically as the producer.

How do you shoot your films in such a quick time?

I always go to my shoot with a bounded script. I have a very strong direction and art department that make things easy for me. So, once we are on board for a project, we design things in such a way that the shoot is like a piece of cake.

About Mahesh’s role in the film?

Mahesh plays a military officer who is socially very responsible. What happens when an army man like him comes to Kurnool and how he sets things right there is the whole story of the film.

Working experience with Mahesh?

He is a director’s actor and always surrenders to his director. Off-screen, he is a very jovial person and gets along quite soon with everyone. I had a blast shooting with him and feel that his fans will just love him in his new avatar.

Highlights of the film?

Comedy in the first half, scenes between Prakash Raj, Vijayashanti and Mahesh, and last fifteen minutes will be the best in the film. The audience will have many more surprises and for that, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Any dream projects?

I am slowly making my mark in the industry and have plans of making Ramayana in Telugu. That is my dream project but I have a long way to go in Tollywood and hope that things will change with Sarileru.
