Young hero Nikhil’s upcoming youthful entertainer, Kirrak Party, is scheduled for a March 16th release. On this occasion, we caught up with the film’s producer Anil Sunkara for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.

Q) Are you confident and happy with Kirrak Party’s output?

A) Yeah, I’m happy with the film’s final output. We tried our best to deliver a quality product and I strongly believe that audiences will also love the film.

Q) Why did you choose to remake Kannada film Kirik Party?

A) I always wanted to make a film on the lines of our Telugu film Shiva. As Kirik Party has similar content, we decided to remake it in Telugu.

Q) Initially, you announced choreographer Raju Sundaram as the film’s director and then dropped him in the last minute. Are there any specific reasons behind it?

A) Yeah, we had planned to make the film under Raju Sundaram’s direction, but when he insisted on making the film in Telugu and Tamil, we dropped the idea and gave the opportunity to writer Sharan Koppisetty.

Q) Are you planning an own release?

A) Yes, we are releasing the movie on our own in ninety percent of the regions and sold the remaining areas to the buyers.

Q) Tell us about the film’s runtime?

A) The original version is almost two hours forty-five minutes, but keeping our Telugu audiences’ in mind, we have limited the runtime to two hours and twenty-five minutes.

Q) What would you like to be tagged, as a director or producer?

A) To be frank, I came to the industry to become a director but became a producer unexpectedly. As I have succeeded as a producer, I want to continue on the same line.

Q) Any specific reasons to cast newcomers in most of your films?

A) Because they take less remuneration (Laughs). Jokes apart, I personally feel that newcomers bring in a lot of freshness to a film.

Q) Coming back to Kirrak Party, what elements are going to be the major highlight of the film?

A) We tried to explore the life journey of an engineering student. I think this kind of presentation is going to be the major highlight of the film.

Q) Your next projects?

A) A project with Sharwanand is under discussion. Will let you know once it’s finalized.
