Suma’s Jayamma Panchayati is all set to release soon. On this occasion, we caught up with the lead pair Dinesh and Shalini for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
Tell us about your background?
Dinesh- I am from the Srikakulam district and completed my Btech and also worked as a mother board designer. As I was always interested in films and wanted to be loved by the audience, I got into films.
Shalini – I am born and brought up in Hyderabad. My father is a journalist and I always loved films. Initially, I worked in Ads and eventually decided to become an actress.
How did you bag the film?
Dinesh- After seeing the casting call, I sent a small video of my performance. The director asked me for a different video and after I sent it, he loved the way I performed and gave me the role.
Shalini – After working in the Ad world, I came to know about this role from one of the team members and auditioned for the film and got selected.
Tell us about your role?
Dinesh- I play a pujari who is not serious in life. He also has a love story with Kavitha and because of my issues, Suma Garu’s character gets involved and a new issue gets created.
Shalini- I play the role of Anitha who plays the love interest Dinesh. My character has come out well and has good scope to perform. The way my character is linked to Jayamma’s story is quite good.
Working with the likes of Suma Garu?
Dinesh- I have a few scenes with Suma Garu and loved the way he helped me perform. She is a live wire off-screen but once the camera is on, she gets into the character.
Shalini – Sadly, I don’t have any scened with Suma Garu and I am quite upset with it. But luckily, I am spending time with her during the promotions.
About the output of the film?
Dinesh- We have worked so hard on the film which went through the Covid scare as well. Suma garu is in top form and everyone will see her in a new avatar in this film and love her.
Shalini – The film has come out quite well and I have pinned a lot of hopes on this project. My character will surely open new avenues for me in the days to come.
