Kartikeya’s Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is presented by the prestigious production company UV Creations. It is produced under the banner of UV Concepts. Iswarya Menon is the heroine, and Rahul Tyson of Happy Days fame plays a pivotal role. Directed by Prashant Reddy, the film is set for a grand release this Friday. Ahead of the release, Kartikeya interacted with the media and here is the transcript.

How did the project start?

During the lockdown, Prashanth Reddy narrated the story of Bhaje Vaayu Vegam to me. As soon as he started telling the story, I connected with the emotions in it. I asked for some time to prepare for the character. We took more time to achieve the best possible output. After the shooting started, director Prashanth gained more confidence in the story.

Do you think being part of this film is the right decision?

Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is the perfect movie for my current image. A hero should be someone we can compare ourselves to. The problems he faces and the ways in which he solves them should be inspiring. Only then will the audience see him as a hero. As a hero, I have a social concern and the same will be reflected in the roles I play. There is good entertainment in the film.

Could you tell us about the songs?

The songs will look different in Bhaje Vaayu Vegam. If a song comes when the story is serious, the audience will feel it as a speed breaker. The song set in this movie became popular, but we have only planned how this song will drive the story forward.

Why isn’t Iswarya Menon shown much in the trailer?

There are no twists related to the heroine’s role. She plays an important role and takes the story forward. The trailer has fewer shots of Iswarya Menon because if her scenes were included, the story would be revealed. The trailer shows the hero as an adopted son. That’s where the story begins.

Do you interfere in the script? Will you give any suggestions?

I don’t interfere with the script, but will discuss many things. If I need time to get ready for the character, I will ask for it. All the credit for Bhaje Vaayu Vegam belongs to the director. Happy Days Rahul showed interest in doing this film, and we happily shot together. Rahul became my best friend in a short time.

You played villain roles as well in your career. How did they help you?

I don’t regret acting as a villain in Gang Leader and Valimai. Before that, the range of my films was different. Many remember me for my role in Gang Leader. After acting in Valimai with Ajith sir, I gained recognition in Tamil Nadu. After these movies, I started doing films with stylish makeovers. Until then, I only appeared with a mass look.
