Sharwanand’s 35th film, Manamey, is gearing up for a grand release on 7th June. The movie, directed by Sriram Aditya, features Krithi Shetty as the female lead. TG Vishwa Prasad produced Manamey under the banners of People Media Factory and Ramsey Studios. The songs, teaser, and other promotional content received a good response from the audience. Ahead of the release, the leading lady, Krithi Shetty, interacted with the media. Here is the transcript.

Could you tell us about your character in the film?

I play Subhadra, which is quite different from all the roles I have played to date. Until now, I acted in cute, soft, and bubbly characters, but Subhadra is very strict. During the shoot, I asked my director, Sriram, several times about my character. I was pleasantly surprised about how stringent Subhadra is. I played the role as guided by my director.

How was it working with Sharwanand?

Sharwanand Garu is one of the finest performers. I watched the film yesterday, and he was very good in every scene. I have a favorite scene in the movie. I waited too eagerly for its shoot, and I kept thinking about how I should perform. Sharwanand Garu came to the set casually and finished the scene with ease. I was taken aback by his performance.

There is a baby in the teaser. Are you playing a mother role?

I don’t know. You will get to know about it while watching the film (giggles). Only when you see the film will you get to know about my character.

When director Sriram narrated the script, what elements attracted you?

Manamey is high on emotions and entertainment. There is a parent-kid emotion in Manamey that will connect to audiences across the globe. The movie revolves around three major characters, and hence we named it Manamey. It is a perfect family film with abundant entertainment.

The major part of the film was shot in abroad. How was the experience?

We shot the film in London. The weather will be unpredictable there. The house in which we shot has many windows. The light keeps changing constantly, and suddenly, there will be a drizzle. We had to wait a lot of time for light and it’s a difficult process.

Could you tell us about your future projects?

At this moment, I am doing three Tamil films. Also, I am doing a movie with Tovino Thomas in Malayalam. Success and failure won’t be in our control. I don’t worry about things that are not in our hands.
