Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Pata is up for a release this 12th. On this occasion, we caught up with the star himself for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

How excited are you about the film’s release?

It has been two and half years since we started this film. Covid came and gone and we faced so many difficulties. It is so good to even sit here in front of the press and talk about the film which has come out quite well.

What’s special about your character?

To know about it more, one has to watch the film. My character is so different than the regular ones and the entire credit should go to Parasuram. He has designed it superbly. The euphoria you got while watching Pokkiri, one would get the same watching me on screen.

Working experience with Parasuram?

Parasuram has a tremendous spark in writing. His strength is in his scripts and the way he has designed my role and the story is very good. The way he mixed family emotions with commercial aspects is superb.

Tell us about the Ma Ma Mahesha song?

This song was not part of the film in the first place. When we saw the rushes, we felt that a mass number should be there. That is when Thaman came up with Ma M Mahesha and a song called Murari Bava was out. We will release it later on Youtube.

You look super stylish. Tell us about it?

Parasuram wanted to announce the film on May 31st last year. But I did not have long hair. He took a Bharath Ane Nenu pose and resigned it with an earring and tattoo. I loved it and gave it a go-ahead. My look has been designed by the director. It was his idea to have long hair.

What kind of a message will SVP showcase?

My last few films had a good message. But in this film, there is more masala entertainment. The audience has gone through a lot and I wanted them to see me in an energetic role. The fans will have a blast.

Reason behind you getting emotional at the pre-release event?

The last two years were quite tough on us. I had lost my own brother and so many personal things happened. All those things flashed in my mind and that is the reason I got a bit teary-eyed.

About Keerthy Suresh?

She is one of the surprise packages of the film. Her role, our chemistry will be one of the biggest highlights in SVP. She has done a superb job and everyone will love her new avatar.

About you not doing films in Bollywood?

From day one, I was clear that Telugu films should reach the pan-India level. I have been talking about this for the last ten years and finally, my dream is coming true. I don’t want to leave Telugu films and go to Hindi cinema but my statements are being misplaced.

Doing a film with the likes of Trivikram?

Doing a film with Trivikram is always high. I love speaking his dialogues and am super excited to start the film. That project will be one of the milestones in my career.
