After a long gap, Prabhu Deva is coming up with a full-fledged Telugu film called Abhinetri. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview.

Q) What made you act in a Telugu film after a long time ?

The director wanted some other star to play this role initially. When he rejected the film, he asked me to step in as I would also fit the role quite well. As I liked the subject completely, I said yes and acted in it.

Q) You also turned producer with this film ?

Yes ! that was an instant idea too. My partner asked whether he could produce the film on my name. I said yes and the film went on floors.

Q) Looks like you are too instinctive ?

Yes ! when someone asks me anything, I should instantly like it. If I connect with it well, I give my nod right away.

Q) Tell us about the film ?

Abhietri is a horror comedy and I play Tamannah’s husband in the film. My role is quite jovial and revolves around Tamannah’s character which is the central part of the film.

Q) Is this a dance based film ?

Not really ! the dance part is quite crucial in the film and Tamannah has done an amazing job with the dances. She has given her heart and soul for the film and you will be surprised with her performance.

Q) Tell us about your director Vijay ?

He knows his craft well and was well prepared before we went to shoot. We shot the film in quick time and it was only possible because he had a lot of clarity of what he was doing.

Q) Did you give him any inputs while directing ?

I am very clear on this issue. Whenever I direct, I go according to my director. Same goes for my choreography. I never compose my songs when I direct and leave it to the technicians.

Q) How did Kona Venkat enter this film ?

When I narrated this film to him in Mumbai, he liked it so much that he decided to present it right away.

Q) What gives you more satisfaction. Acting, choreography or direction ?

Undoubtedly choreography. Even till date, I am very excited about my songs. The night before the shoot of any song, I get quite anxious and this eagerness has kept me going even now.

Q) Who is your favourite dancer in Tollywood ?

Chiranjeevi garu is my all time favourite.

Q) How is personal life ?

Currently, both my sons are my priority. Funnily, they hate dancing and films and are busy studying. Giving them a better life is my ultimate goal now.

Q) Your future projects ?

My Hindi film will kick start its shoot soon. It will be with Abhisehk Bachchan.
