Much awaited Bro starring Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej, is scheduled for grand release across the globe on July 28. Produced by People Media Factory in collaboration with ZEE Studios, Bro is written and directed by Samuthirakani. Trivikram penned the screenplay while Thaman composed the tunes. Ahead of the release, we had a brief interaction with Sai Dharam Tej, and here is the transcript.

Which element in Bro has grabbed your attention?

I got a chance to act with the person who encouraged me to step forth into the film industry. I didn’t even listen to the script. It was a remake, and I okayed it immediately. I didn’t even watch the original version because I might get influenced and hence avoided watching it. I didn’t act in Bro just because it is related to my real life. Bro happened quite before I met with the accident.

Can you tell us a few challenging and memorable moments on the sets of Bro?

There were a few challenging moments but many memorable moments. I loved spending time with my Guru, mentor, and uncle. He is irreplaceable. Pawan Garu pushed me hard to bring out the best in me for Bro. The whole family is happy because Pawan Garu and I acted together. Chiranjeevi Garu was very happy for us. I want to collaborate with other heroes too. Ravi Teja Garu and Prabhas Garu are my favorites. Kalyan Ram Anna and NTR Anna are close to me. I share a good bond with Manchu Manoj, and we even planned a film once, but it didn’t work out.

How was it working with Ketika Sharma and Priya Prakash Varrier?

Ketika Sharma and Priya Prakash Varrier gave it their all. I knew Ketika because she worked alongside my brother Vaisshnav Tej. Even though they didn’t know Telugu, they were able to pull out very well. That is something that needs to be admired. Their characters won’t go overboard and have their limitations. Thus the romance part will also be moderately good.

How much value does Trivikram Garu bring to Bro?

The film is going to be very impactful. There will be a conversation between me and Kalyan Garu in the pre-climax, which will be very insightful. Words might look very simple, but the depth that the words have brought is a different vibe altogether. It is about the film’s theme, and Trivikram has done a fantastic job.

Are you really taking a six-month break?

Yeah, it is true. I wanted to take a break after Virupaksha. Since Bro started before that, I wanted to complete it and take a break. I want to make sure that my health is regained to my best. I already have a film with Sampath Nandi Garu, and I also did a short film with my best friend Naveen, which will be 23 minutes long. The short film will release soon, and it is about the perspective of a soldier’s wife.

Tell us about Abdul Farhan, who saved you during the tragic bike accident.

Please don’t take me wrong, but YouTubers have made things worse. I have been in constant touch with that person, and it is not that I want to get rid of him by giving him a ransom. I don’t think YouTubers are mainstream media. My team is in touch with him.

What is so special about People Media Factory?

There is some magic about People Media Factory. First, they made Venky Mama, in which the principal characters were Venkatesh Garu and his nephew Naga Chaitanya. This was their first film in Telugu, and their 25th film is Bro, which again featured me and my maternal uncle Pawan Kalyan Garu. Working with them was very comfortable, and we had an excellent working space. It is not easy to find such producers who are supportive.
