Star actress, Shruthi Haasan has been juggling with many films in different languages. Off late, she has been in news for her role in her latest film Premam. On the eve of the film’s success, we caught up with her for a detailed interview. Let’s see what she has to say.

Q)What attracted you towards this role ?

The character was completely different to me in real life. I am a very open person who likes to be on top of things. This role was a huge challenge and I need to thank the audience for accepting me such graciously.

Q)Were you ready for the comparisons ?

No ! not at all. I belong to the Kamal Haasan family and such things do not bother me at all. I don’t take these things seriously and approach every role as a fresh one. That is where I bring my own touch and everything falls into place.

Q)Did you do any homework for your role ?

Not much. Me and director Chandoo had a few discussions and felt that my character should be a little dominating to make it believable. Other than that, I had very less makeup on and acted according to sensibilities of Telugu audience.

Q)Working with Chandoo?

Even though this is a remake, the way Chandoo has directed this film with a pinch of comedy and commercial touch is just superb.

Q)Working with Naga Chaitanya ?

Chay is a very close friend of mine. It was like going back to school with a close buddy. I am so happy for him as he has done a wonderful job in the film.

Q)Why are you doing so many remakes ?

Yes ! my next film with Pawan Kalyan is also a remake. Somehow I have become a remake rani. But as long as things are working for me, it is all good. As said earlier, I approach every role as a new one and bring in my style.

Q)How was it working with Pawan after a long time ?

Pawan Kalyan has a very special place in my career as Gabbar Singh was my first biggest hit. It has been a long time working with him but I am loving every bit of it during Katamarayudu’s shoot.

Q)How do you manage to do films in different languages ?

Even though it is tough, I somehow pull it off. When I am doing a Telugu film, I think like a Telugu girl and the same is for all the other languages. There is so much on my plate right now and I am enjoying this phase completely.

Q)How is working with your dad ?

Initially, it was very scary. But slowly as time passed by, I was at ease and got a grip of his working style. One thing I can say is that when he is around, everything is so serious and there is so much to learn.

Q)Your latest video, BITCH has gone viral. What was your thought behind it ?

This was going around with me from quite some time now. As a woman, I felt that I should portray all my feelings without any inhibitions and as I found a good platform, I jumped into it right away.
