Udayanidhi Stalin is the grandson of former Tamil Nadu CM Karunanidhi. He is going to be seen as a hero in the upcoming film ‘Ok Ok’ and the movie has been received very well in Tamil Nadu. Bellamkonda Suresh bagged the Telugu rights of the film and the movie is releasing on August 31st in Andhra Pradesh. Stalin spoke to the media today on this occasion and here is the transcript of that conversation for you.

Q. Is this your first movie as a hero?
A. As a hero, yes, but I did a brief cameo in Surya’s ‘Ghatikudu’. That sparked the passion in me and I turned to acting.

Q. You have worked as a producer before. And you turned to acting now. Which role is more difficult?
A. Definitely, acting is more difficult. It is not an easy task to impress viewers. As a producer, I have a good grip on production but as an actor, I am still learning the ropes. Dances, fights , stunts – these are all tough things

Q. Which genre of films would you like to do?
A. I personally feel that my body language is better suited for comedy and entertaining roles rather than action films. So those are the kinds of films I would like to do.

Q. Have you seen the Telugu version of OK Ok? Are you happy with it?
A. The movie has come out well in Telugu also. Sunil’s dubbing has worked wonders for Santhanam’s role and it has given the film a local flavour.

Q. What is the reason for choosing Bellamkonda Suresh as your partner here?
A. Bellamkonda Suresh garu is a big producer in AP. He saw the film in Tamil on Day 1 and came to my office to appreciate me. He wanted to dub the film into Telugu then itself. But I wanted to wait and see if the film finds success in Tamil Nadu. After we got a terrific response there, we decided to bring the film here.

Q. Seen any Telugu movies recently?
A. Yes. I have seen quite a few. ‘100 % Love’, ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and ‘Ala Modalaindhi’ are my favourites. The interesting thing is, I got an offer to act in the Tamil version of ‘Ala Modalaindhi’. But I felt that my body language will not be suitable for that role. Hence I gave up that role.

Q. Who are your favourite actors in Telugu?
A. I like Akkineni Nagarjuna a lot. I have been a big fan of Nagarjuna ever since Shiva released.

Q. How was it to work with Hansika?
A. Hansika is a great co-star. She is a good dancer and I had to struggle to keep up with her.

Q. Coming from a political family, can we expect you to join politics in future?
A. No, that is not my cup of tea. I am not interested in politics at all. I want to make a name for myself as a good hero and producer with good taste.

Q. What are your future projects?
A. I will be producing two Tamil films very soon. I am also in script discussions for a new film with Sundar C. Once this is finalized, I will take a call whether to act in it or produce it.

With that, the interaction ended. Let us hope that Stalin’s movie ‘Ok Ok’ earns him a good name here.
