Director V.V.Vinayak is back with yet another romantic and action entertainer ‘Akhil’. The film is up for release this Diwali and on this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

Q)How did you handle the angry fans when Akhil was postponed ?

There were huge expectations about Akhil’s debut among the Akkineni fans. When we postponed the film, fans got disappointed big time. But when Nagarjuna garu addressed a press meet, everything cooled down and now they are quite eager to watch the film.

Q)What was the exact reason behind postponing the film ?

The run time of Akhil is 2 hours 10 minutes. The last 10 minutes of the film has huge graphics and we felt that the ten minutes have not come out well visually. So, we decided to redo the VFX part but never re-shot the film as rumored.

Q)What can we expect from this film ?

People are thinking that Akhil is a socio-fantasy film which it is not.  There are all kinds of elements in the film which will surprise the audience as well as entertain them.

Q)You and Akhil seem to have taken a lot of pressure about the film ?

When I watched Akhil in Manam I decided to make a film with him. When I narrated the story to Nagarjuna sir, he was quite impressed and gave his son’s responsibility to me. Obviously, I am very nervous as I am launching a star hero’s son. Same with Akhil as he has to continue his family legacy.

Q)Tell us about Akhil’s performance?

Akhil displayed good energy levels and his performance will be the major highlight in the film. I am pretty confident that his character will connect well with the audience. Even though, it is his debut film Akhil did complete justice to his role. He is a dedicated hero.

Q)What is the reason behind choosing Mani Sharma for the BGM?

Though SS Thaman and Anup Rubens have scored the music, producer Sudhakar Reddy felt Mani Sharma’s background score will bring a good feel to the film.

Q)Whose idea was it to cast Sayesha opposite Akhil?

It happened unexpectedly. One of Sudhakar Reddy’s friends in Mumbai referred her name and we immediately finalized her. Sayesha is a superb performer and dancer.

Q) Are you directing Chiranjeevi’s 150th film?

Smiles ! As of now, nothing has been finalized.
