Vennela Kishore is one of the few comedians in Tollywood who has his own slang and comedy timing. His comedy episodes in Keshava have been well received by the audience. On this occasion, we had a small chat session with him. Here is the transcript.

Q) How are you enjoying Keshava’s success?
When director Sudheer Varma told me that my character will have single emotion for starting to ending I had a doubt whether it work out. But while we shooting for the film, I noticed the depth in the character and I’m happy that the audiences are enjoying it.

Q) Tell us about your character in Ami Thumi?
I’m playing an important character in Ami Thumi. My role will have equal important on par with Adivi Sesh and Avasarala Srinivas. It will be yet another fun role for me.

Q) How is your character related to the story?
A) The story is all about what funny incidents happen in my life within a two day span. How I enter into the love stories of Adivi Sesh and Avasarala Srinivas and what happens in the further proceedings is the rest of the story. As per the story, I’m the villain in the film.(Laughs)

Q) Can we expect fresh comedy in this film too?
Yes. It will be different from my previous comedy roles. If the role and comedy clicks, I will surely give whole credit to director Mohankrishna.

Q) How is it working with Indraganti?
A) For the first time, I worked with him in Gentleman and now I did this film. It was very comfortable working with him.

Q) Are you happy with the way your career is going?
A) Yeah, I’m happy. Till date, I acted in more than 150 films with almost all the leading heroes and recently released Keshava gave me three more years validity in the industry.

Q) Are there any plans to turn as the hero?
No way. My strong feeling is that I’m not a hero material. A few years ago, K. Raghavendra Rao garu called me and appreciated my comedy timing and took a promise from me to not try as the hero and I have stuck to my word.

Q) Tell us about your forthcoming projects?
Currently, RRVC is ready for release. I’m playing as the hero’s friend in the film. It will also be a good role for me.
