Joker made waves worldwide in 2019, with Joaquin Phoenix’s outstanding performance earning him an Academy Award. The highly anticipated sequel, Joker: Folie a Deux (Joker 2), released in Indian theaters on Gandhi Jayanti, aimed to recapture that magic.

Unfortunately, the sequel has fallen flat, failing to live up to the high expectations set by its predecessor. Its box office performance in India has been disappointing, with collections barely crossing Rs. 8 crore. Each passing day sees a further dip in earnings, marking a significant blow for Warner Bros. and DC Studios.

Despite Lady Gaga in a prominent role, along with Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz, the Todd Philips-directed film has not resonated with audiences. All eyes are now on the weekend to see if the movie can recover some ground.
