Srikanth Odela, director of Dasara, has strongly condemned Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s disrespectful remarks about actress Samantha and her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. Odela expressed his shock and disgust at the minister’s comments, asserting that such statements are inappropriate for those in positions of power.
Having closely worked with Samantha as an assistant director on Rangasthalam, Odela shared his admiration for her, stating, “As her fan and someone who respects her deeply, I am hurt by these derogatory remarks.” He described Samantha as a “gem of a person” and a hardworking actress, referring to her as his elder sister.
Odela also voiced concerns about the impact of such disrespectful comments on women in the film industry. He called for those in power to maintain dignity and avoid stooping to low levels for political gain, emphasizing the need for respect toward all actors, especially actresses.
