Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is hero Kartikeya’s new film, which has hit the screens today. Prashanth Reddy has directed this film, which has Iswarya Menon as the female lead. Read our detailed review here.

Story :

Venkat (Karthikeya) and Raju (Rahul Tyson) are the sons of a poor farmer (Tanikella Bharani). The brothers move to the city to become a cricketer and software engineer, respectively, but get cheated badly. If this was not enough, Venkat gambles a big chunk of his savings in the IPL betting. The ones who manage the betting system further cheat Venkat. Upset with this, the brothers rob the car of David (Ravi Shankar), the man behind the mafia. They strike a deal, but things go upside down as the cops in the state go after the brothers. What is in the car? Who are the people behind the mafia? How did Venkat save his father? This forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points :

The solid twists and turns are one of the biggest assets of the film. The manner in which they are executed in a very exciting manner holds your attention till the end. The second half, in particular, has gripping drama and thrills, which make the film quite interesting.

Kartikeya fits the bill perfectly. He, as a powerful youth who takes a lot of risks, is amazing in the film. Kartikeya is stunning in all the action blocks. Iswarya Menon does not have much to do, but the twist that she is involved in is amazing and ends the first half with a bang.

Ravi Shankar, who plays the main villain, is quite good in his role. The way he performs in a tense situation gives the film an edge. Happy Days fame Rahul Tyson makes a comeback, and he gets a meaty role and has equal space as that of a hero. Rahul suits his role well.

Credit should go to director Prashanth Reddy for his smart writing. Though it is a simple plot, the way he has added drama and thrills makes Bhaje Vaayu Vegam quite gripping. Tanikella Bharani is impressive in his role.

Minus Points :

Bhaje Vaayu Vegam starts on a very slow note. The director took a lot of time to establish the basic plot. Twenty minutes into the film, the actual plot is not unleashed by the director, and this makes things a bit slow.

Though the heroine is involved in a major twist, her track looks weak. The way she goes after the hero and shows love through her deeds looks a bit over the top in a few scenes.

The way the two villains have issues with each other looks quite routine and does not create much of an impact on the proceedings. But all these shortcomings are cleverly covered by the gripping screenplay.

Technical Aspects :

Radhan has composed the songs, and they are just about okay. But the BGM, composed by Kapil Kumar, is terrific. The action blocks are good, and especially the car chase fight looks realistic. Dialogues are fine, as is the editing. The production values are also quite good. The camerawork is neat, as was the production design.

Coming to director Prashanth Reddy, he makes a good film on his debut. The manner in which he has taken a simple story and given it a lot of twists and turns shows his talent as a writer and director. There are hardly any boring moments, though the plot is simple. He has a promising future as a director.

Verdict :

On the whole, Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is a time-pass masala entertainer that has decent twists and turns. It starts on a very slow note and takes time to enter the main plot, but once it does, it entertains you decently.
