Small film Raghava Reddy, featuring Siva Kantamneni and Nandita Swetha, debuted today in cinemas. Check out our review to know how the movie is.

Story:

Raghava Reddy (Siva Kantamneni), a college professor proficient in solving criminal cases, encounters Lucky (Nandita Swetha) at his college, leading to clashes due to her attitude. As the plot progresses, Raghava Reddy discovers information about his daughter. Who is his daughter? How is Devaki (Rashi) related to his story? The unfolding events form the essence of the story.

Plus Points:

Siva Kantamneni convincingly portrays his character, excelling in action scenes. The emotional connection between him and Rashi is notable.

Rashi performs adequately in her role, while Nandita Swetha fits her character seamlessly. Supporting actors like Annapurna, Raghu Babu, Ajay, Posani Krishnamurali, and others deliver commendable performances.

Praveen, Ajay Gosh, and Bithiri Satthi justify their roles, contributing to the film’s emotional depth.

Minus Points:

Director Sanjeevi Megoti, despite his earnest efforts, falls short of creating a fast-paced film. Numerous scenes in the first half are sluggish and uninspiring, and the regular comedy fails to leave an impact.

The emotional depth between the lead characters could have been better utilised. The story and screenplay, deemed ordinary, suffer from slow-paced sequences in the second half and the pre-climax.

Rashi’s character design and Nandita’s portrayal lack depth, resulting in a misalignment with the intended genre.

Technical Aspects:

While Director Sanjeev adeptly handles action, his overall command on the film is limited. The respective teams behind the musical score, cinematography, editing, and production give their best for the film.

Verdict:

On the whole, Raghava Reddy is a slow and boring action and emotional drama. Barring Siva Kantamneni’s okay performance and a few decent action scenes, the film is marred by a sluggish screenplay and unnecessary segments in both halves. Skip the movie and look out for other entertainment options this weekend.
